A man swims downstream 30 km and upstream 18 km taking 3 hours each time, what is the speed of the man in still water?

   Speed of man downstream= 30/3=10km/h
   Speed of man in upstream=18/3=6km/h
   Speed of man in still water=1/2 (speed of upstream+ speed of down stream)
   = 1/2 (10+6)
   =1/2*16
   =8km/h
